The longest open saltwater SCUBA dive is 49 hr 56 min and was achieved by Sean McGahern (UK) at St George’s Bay, Malta, from 3-5 October 2013.

Mr. McGahern needed to dive in water of a depth no less than 10 m (32 ft 9 in) and no part of his body or equipment could break the surface of the water at any time.
