Longest reigning queen – living

Currently, the longest-reigning, living queen is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (b. 21 April 1926), who succeeded to the throne on 6 February 1952 on the death of her father, King George VI.

Elizabeth II is Queen of the United Kingdom and head of the Commonwealth.

The year 2002 saw The Queen’s Golden Jubilee, marking 50 years since The Queen’s Accession .

The year 2012 saw The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, marking 60 years since the Queen’s Accession.
