Longest running sports TV programme

Hockey Night in Canada or HNIC (CBC, Canada), began on CRBC (renamed CBC) radio in 1933, before it debued on 11 October 1952 to cover the first televised National Hockey League (NHL) match in Montreal, Canada. Since then, HNIC has aired every Saturday night during the regular hockey season with annual coverage of All-Star weekend, the playoffs, and the Stanley Cup Finals. Despite a break during the cancelled NHL season of 2004-05, the show resumed on 8 October 2005, with its host Ron MacLean (Canada).
