Most hit singles on US chart

Elvis Presley (USA) has achieved a record 151 hit singles on the various US singles charts that have existed since 1956. This includes 108 hits on the current Billboard US Hot 100 survey, which began in 1958. Elvis took his first step towards a musical career at the age of eight, when he won $5 (then £1.24) in a local singing contest in Tupelo, Mississippi performing the Red Folley ballad, “Old Shep”.

Elvis’ 108 Billboard US Hot 100 entries gives him the record for the Most Billboard US Hot 100 entries (solo artist). Only the cast members of the TV show Glee (USA) have achieved more, producing 131 hit singles on the Billboard US Hot 100 between 6 June 2009 and 2 April 2011 (see attempt id: 125398).
