The most Ironman races completed in one year is 30 and was achieved by James Lawrence (USA) between 1 January and 31 December 2012.
James began his attempt on 8 January 2012 by running the HITS Naples 2012 race in Naples, Florida, and ran his thirtieth and final Ironman race of the year at the 2012 HITS Championship in Palm Springs, California, on 2 December 2012. He ran the majority of the races in his native USA, running 20 different Ironman races across the country. However, also ran two races in Canada and one each in Australia, South Africa, Brazil, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland and Mexico. This is James’ second Guinness World Records title, having set the record for ‘Most Ironman 70.3 races completed in a year’ in 2010.
