The most kites flown simultaneously is 12,350 and was achieved by children of the Gaza Strip at an event organised by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency at Al-Waha beach, Gaza Strip, on 28 July 2011.
In order to be counted all kites must be flown for a minimum of 30 seconds. In this attempt 2,231 kites were disqualified for not staying aloft for the required time.
