The most maggots moved with the mouth in one hour is 17 kg (37 lbs 7 oz) and was achieved by Charlie Bell (UK) on the set of Guinness World Records Smashed at Pinewood Studios, UK, on 7 April 2009.
Charlie was allowed to drink water during the attempt. The maggots were starved for two days before the attempt. The pot he took the maggots out of had to be refilled several times during the attempt. Towards the end, and probably due to the heat in the studio, some of the maggots began to hatch into flies.
