Most No. 1 rap albums on the US album chart

New York rapper Jay-Z (USA, b. Shawn Carter) has topped the US Billboard 200 with 11 albums – the most No.1s by a solo act – since debuting at the top with Vol.2…Hard Knock Life in 1998. His latest chart-topper was The Blueprint 3, released in September 2009. Jay-Z’s tally of US No.1s is bettered only by The Beatles (UK), who scored 19 No.1 albums between 1964 and 2000.
