Largest collection of ladybirds

Carine Roosen (Belgium) has the largest collection of ladybird items having amassed 3,531 for over 10 years. Her favourite items include a ladybird toilet seat and her jewelleries. In March 2009, she had an exhibition of her collection at the school she teaches.

Largest collection of Märklin waggons

The largest collection of Märklin wagons belongs to Gilles Monk (Belgium), with 1982 different pieces, which he has been collecting since 1980. See Märklin history attachment. CD with pictures of all trains provided. Mr Monk’s favourite train is the “Crocodile” which is an entirely gold plated train produced in only 50 pieces for a press conference held by Märklin in 1983, only given to journalists.

Largest flaming image using matches

A group of seven contestants (Bart, Betty, Catherine, Frank, Glenn, Jeroen and Steven) from Belgium’s Big Brother TV show, built a fire carpet depicting the show’s logo out of 329,700 matches The flaming image measured 10m² (107.63 ft²) when it was lit on19 November 2000. Largest high visibility jacket

The largest high visibility jacket measures 13.88 m (45 ft 6 in) high and 10.68 m (35 ft) wide and was manufactured by Febelsafe and Secura, in Brussels, Belgium. It was measured on 7 February 2013. This high visibility jacket was also CE-certified, meaning it meets the essential requirements of the European Economic Area.

Largest quiz

The largest quiz ever held involved 2,280 participants in an event called ‘Quiz for Life’, organised by IML (Belgium) and held at the Flanders Expo in Ghent, Belgium, on 11 December 2010. A total of 2,399 people took part in the quiz at any one time but not all participated at all times or were in even teams.

Longest salami

The longest salami is 1,152 m 16 cm (3,780 ft 0.54 in) and was made by Cock’s Vleeswaren NV (Belgium) in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, on 23 April 2010. The total salami weight after cooking and drying was 2,171.37 kg (4,787.05 lbs). The company used five 150 kg (330.69 lbs) containers of turkey and pork, and five 150 kg (330.69 lbs) containers of bacon to produce the record-breaking salami.

Longest catwalk (Structure)

The longest catwalk measures 2,292 m (7,519 ft 8 in) and was constructed by Wijnegem Shopping Center (Belgium) at the Wijnegem Shopping Center, Wijnegem, Belgium, on 8 October 2011. The catwalk was used for a fashion show with 70 models. It takes 35 minutes to walk the entire length of the catwalk.

Longest marathon bartending

The longest bartending marathon lasted 111 hours and was achieved by Ruth Brands (Belgium), at the Café Het Gildenhuis, Opglabbeek, Belgium, from 30 October to 4 Novemebr 2012. During the attempt, other staff members hosted events and ran fundraisers to raise money for a disabled children’s charity. After setting the record, Ruth took a few hours to sleep before heading back to the bar for a celebratory party and to present the charity with a cheque for €12,111 (£10,277.50).
