Longest bucket chain

The longest fire service bucket chain stretched 4,589.75 metres (15,058 ft 2in), with 5,239 participants transporting 869.2 litres (191.2 UK gal; 229.62 US gal) of water at an event organised by the Voluntary Fire Department of the Town of Pfullingen (Germany), in Pfullingen, Germany on 23 July 2011.

Longest bubble chain (stacked)

The longest stacked bubble chain consisted of 21 bubbles and was achieved by Gennadij Kil (AKA ‘Blub’- Germany) at the Centro de Crecion y Formacion Joven of Guia de Isora, Tenerife, Spain on 13 January 2011. Gennadij also attempted the Largest explosive soap bubble record on the same day and was successful.

Longest chain of aprons

The longest chain of aprons consisted of 808 aprons and was made by Martina Fichte (Germany) at the port of List on the island of Sylt, Germany, on 1 August 2010. The chain measured 1,756.68 m (5,763 ft 4 in) long.

Longest Castle

The longest castle is the “Burg zu Burghausen” which measures 1,051.02 metres (3,448 ft 2 in) long and is located in Burghausen, Germany. The definition of “castle” for this record is the definition of the Encyclopedia Britannica which reads “… medieval European stronghold, generally the residence of the king or lord of the territory in which it stands.” 

Longest chalk pavement art

The longest chalk pavement art was 5,600 m (18,372 ft 8 in) long and 2 m (6 ft 6 in) wide and was achieved by over 5,000 students from Jena in Jena, Germany, on 5 June 2009. The chalk pavement art was drawn on Stadtrodaer Street, where traffic was diverted on this day. The street was divided in 2m x 2m squares which then were filled with chalk drawings by the children. Longest chess marathon

The longest chess marathon lasted 40 hr 20 min between Daniel Häußler and Philipp Bergner (both Germany) at the old town hall in Ostfildern, Germany, between 17-19 December 2010. Häußler won 191 matches to Bergner’s 114. There were 50 draws.

Longest continuous moonwalk (dance)

The longest continuous moonwalk lasted for 2 hours 30 minutes 50 seconds and was achieved by Michael Frank (Germany) in Eppingen, Germany, on 30 Janurary 2011. Michael is a professional dance instructor and a national dance champion in Germany. He continuously performed Michael Jackson’s iconic “moonwalk” dance move without pausing or taking a rest/bathroom break. At the end of the attempt he stated he could not feel the soles of his feet, but feeling was quickly regained.

Longest credit on a single

The longest credit on a single is 1,491 people on the recording ‘Was Ist Passiert?’ released by PUR (Germany) on 20 October 2003 in Germany. Those credited are fans who registered via the band’s website. The single had over 21,000 sales in Germany to February 2004, and the credit is printed in the liner notes as well as read out by the band on the recording itself.
