The attempt took place at ten different shopping centres, the electricity was generated by pedalling bicycles and the aim was to light up a Christmas tree in each location.
The most people in a thumb wrestling chain is 957 and was achieved by Junior Chamber International Osaka (Japan) at Osaka Castle Nishinomaru Garden, Osaka, Osaka, Japan, on 25 August 2012. The participants played thumb wrestling simultaneously in a continuous chain for 5 minutes. Twenty stewards observed the participants to make sure they were all playing.
The most people star-jumping simultaneously was 1,254 and was organised by Take and Give. Needs Co., Ltd (Japan) at Zanpa-misaki Royal Hotel in Nakagamigun Yomitanson, Okinawa, Japan, on 10 April 2012. The attempt was done as a part of the training program for the employees. The goal of the attempt was to unite the heart of all employee members. All the participants perfomed jumping jacks.
The most people throwing a ceremonial first pitch simultaneously was achieved by 111 pitchers and was organized by the Ehime Mandarin Pirates (all Japan) at the Botchan Stadium, Ehime-ken, Japan, on 26 August 2011. 118 pitchers pitched but 7 were discounted. To check the timing of each pitcher 5 video cameras were used, placed all around the stadium.
The most people wearing yukata was 1,122 and was achieved by Aeon Co., Ltd. (Japan) at Nippon Seinen-Kan Hall, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, on 12 June 2012. A yukata is a casual summer kimono usually made of cotton or synthetic fabric. All the participants wore yukata, obi and geta (traditional Japanese sandals).
The most prolific console-based gaming news service is Toro Station (formerly Mainichi Issho), produced by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and featuring a total of 1,591 episodes on the PlayStation 3 and PSP (PlayStation Portable) consoles between November 11 2006 to 15 May 2011. The record for riding the most different ski lifts in 24 hours is 46 and was achieved by Aaron Doig, Kieron Waller (both UK) and Koji Hoshino (Japan) who rode lifts at six different ski resorts in Yuzawa, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, on 27 March 2009. The ski resorts in question were Ishiuchi, Gala, Iwappara, Kandatsu, Kagura and Naeba.
