Most powerful tug (greatest bollard pull)

Farstad Shipping of Norway has put into service ‘ Far Samson’ , the most powerful offshore vessel in the world in terms of bollard pull. In the towage industry bollard pull is the prime criteria by which a tug’s performance is measured. Oldest married couple, aggregate age

Karl Dølven (Norway, b. 31 August 1897) married Gudrun Haug (Norway, b. 14 October 1900) at Hole, Norway, on 4 June 1927. They remained married until Gudrun’s death on 24 April 2004. At this time Gudrun was aged 103 years 193 days and Karl was 106 years 237 days – an aggregate age of 210 years 65 days .

Oldest performing ballerina

The oldest performing ballerina is Grete Brunvoll (Norway) (b. 27 July 1930). She began dancing at the age of 6 and her first professional performance was at the Nathionalteater in 1945, when she was 15 years old. She is now almost 80 years old and still trains everyday and does regualar public performances.

Oldest penguin in captivity

The oldest penguin ever in captivity was Rocky, a rockhopper penguin (Eudyptes chrysocome) who was one of six who arrived at Bergen Aquarium, Norway in 1974 and lived there until his death in October 2003, aged 29 years, four months.

Longest journey on roller skis

The longest journey on roller skis is 2,246.21 km (1,395.73 mi) and was achieved by Cesar Baena (Venezuela) from Stockholm, Sweden, to Oslo, Norway, between 11 May and 5 July 2012. Cesar was supported by a team that included Photographer, Anton Sjudin and his brother, Bernardo Baena, who traveled with him by car.
