Tony Benshoof (USA) reached a speed of 139.39 km/h (86.6 mph) on the 2002 Olympic track at Park City, Utah, USA, on 16 October 2001. The speed was reached during training for the 2001 Luge World Cup Series. Benshoof was a member of the USA 2001/02 Luge Team and participated at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City. Timing was done using a ‘speed trap’ consisting of timing lights spaced 5 m apart.

The fastest caravan tow is 228.523 km/h (141.998 mph) and was achieved by Jason Sands (USA) driving a GMC 2500HD and towing a standard Carson Kalispell at El Mirage Dry Lake, California, USA, on 23 August 2012. The only modification to the caravan was uprated tyres, the wheels and all other components were unchanged.

The farthest flight by a paper aircraft is 69.14 meters (226 feet 10 inches), achieved by Joe Ayoob and aircraft designer John M. Collins (both USA), at McClellan Air Force Base, in North Highlands, California, USA on 26 February 2012. The plane was constructed from a single sheet of uncut A4 paper. Joe Ayoob flew the aircraft designed by John M. Collins.

Fastest speed on a quadbike (ATV)

The highest speed on a quad bike (ATV) is 315.74 km/h (196.19 mph) achieved by Terry Wilmeth (USA) onboard his ALSR Rocket Raptor version 6.0, a modified Yamaha 700 Raptor at the Madras Airport, Madras, Oregon, USA, on 15 June 2008. The ATV was augumented with a hybrid rocket thruster. The speed is the average of 2 runs in opposite directions.

The longest moving quad bike jump is 22.3 m (73 ft 4.5 in) and was achieved by Cody Elkins (USA) on the set of ‘Guinness World Records Unleashed’ in California City, California, USA, on 8 July 2013. Mr. Elkins jumped over a 2012 Porsche Panamera, a 2013 Bentley Continental GT, a 2013 Ford F-150 Raptor Crew, and a 2012 Sportchassis P2, which was the vehicle towing the ramp. The longest living quadriplegic (incomplete) is Janet Barnes (b. 09 October 1928, USA), who was born with a broken neck and has been a quadriplegic for 83 years, 5 months, 12 days, as of 21 March 2012. Janet Barnes has had C4 motor incomplete tetraplegia her entire life.

Oldest qualified pilot

Born March 14, 1902, Cole Kugel, a resident of Longmont, Colorado, USA is the oldest qualified pilot. He was born one year before the legendary Wright Brothers took to the skies, and has been flying ever since. Kugel earned his pilot’s license in 1945 and flew in 2007 for the last time, aged 105, piloting in the company of local veterinarian Lynn Ferguson in his beloved 1976 Cessna 182.
