The tallest Buddha is the Zhongyuan Buddha which measures 127.64 m (418 ft 9.19 in) and is situated in Lushan County, Henan Province, China. It was consecrated on 1 September 2009 and was measured on 2 December 2009.
For this record, the measurement is taken for the height of the Buddha and the lotus base only.
The height of the Buddha: The copper part which includes the Buddha itself and the pedal base is 127.64m (Buddha 108.448 m, pedal base 19.291 m); the Jingang base under the pedal base is 27.453 m, and the Xumi pedal under the Jingang pedal is 25.238 m, and the last base is 27.629 m. So the whole height of the statue is 208.059 m tall in total.
It took 12 years starting from 1997 to construct. It is made of 108 kilos of gold, 3,300 tons of copper alloy and 15,000 tons of special steel.
