Thinnest nation

The country with the lowest Body Mass Index (BMI) is Bangladesh, with a national average of 20.5 for women and 20.4 for men. More than 9 million children – more than half of all Bangladeshi children – are underweight and suffer from stunted growth. The fattest nation is the island state of Nauru, where the average BMI is 35.
