The youngest person to have an appendectomy was Sebastian Perez (b. 31 July, 2009, IN, USA) when he was just 9 days old at the Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis, on 9 August, 2009.

Sebastian was recovering well at the time of discharge and after a few complications.
