Longest burning light bulb

The Livermore Centennial Light Bulb, at Firestation #6, Livermore, California, USA, has been burning since it was installed in 1901. As of 2010, the hand-blown bulb has operated at about 4 watts, and has been left on 24 hours a day in order to provide night illumination of the fire engines. There has only been one break in its operation when it was removed from one fire station and fitted in another.

Longest bunting line

The longest line of bunting is 12,115 m 83 cm (39,750 ft 1 in) long and was achieved by Sharon Le Corre and Cragg Vale Community Association (both UK) in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, UK, on 15 June 2014.

Longest bull horns

The longest bull horns each measured 1.4 m (4 ft 7 in) long and had a circumference of 0.79 m (2 ft 7 in) on 21 August 2002. They belonged to the bull, Gopal, who is owned by the animal protection centre, Bhagvan Mahavir Pashu Raksha Kendra Anchorwala Ahinsa Dham, on Pragpur road, Gujarat, India. The horns were removed surgically on 21 August 2002 as they were affecting the health of the bull. This is based on the length of the horns.

Longest bucket chain

The longest fire service bucket chain stretched 4,589.75 metres (15,058 ft 2in), with 5,239 participants transporting 869.2 litres (191.2 UK gal; 229.62 US gal) of water at an event organised by the Voluntary Fire Department of the Town of Pfullingen (Germany), in Pfullingen, Germany on 23 July 2011.

Longest bubble chain (stacked)

The longest stacked bubble chain consisted of 21 bubbles and was achieved by Gennadij Kil (AKA ‘Blub’- Germany) at the Centro de Crecion y Formacion Joven of Guia de Isora, Tenerife, Spain on 13 January 2011. Gennadij also attempted the Largest explosive soap bubble record on the same day and was successful.

Longest career as a bartender

The longest career as a bartender was achieved by Clarice J. Kramer Cadarette Grenkowicz (b. 2 June 1919, USA) who has served as the primary bartender at the Maplewood Tavern in Alpena, Michigan, for 71 years. Clarice will celebrate her 92nd birthday this year (2011) and she still continues to work as a bartender at the Maplewood Tavern, which she also now owns. Longest carbon nanotube

The world’s largest carbon nanotube model contained 65,000 carbon atoms and measured 360 m (1,181 ft) long. It was constructed on 22 April 2005, using Molecular Visions chemistry building blocks, by students and staff at Rice University’s Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology, Houston, Texas, USA.
