The longest continuous dramatic performance was 23 hr 33 min 54 sec and was achieved by the 27 O’Clock Players (USA) who performed ‘The Bald Soprano’ by Eugene Ionesco at Belmar, New Jersey, USA, on 27 July 2010. The Bald Soprano has a looped ending where the script requires the continuous repition of the play with actors swapping roles. The approximately one-hour script was repeated 25 times during the attempt.
The longest platform-to-platform bicycle jump was 4.02 m (13 ft 2 in) and was achieved by Vittorio Brumotti (Italy), in Fiera Milano, Milan, Italy, for Guinness World Records Day in November 2009.
The longest pizza measured 1,141.5 m (3,745 ft 0.85 in) and was created by Marquinetti (aka Jesús Marquina Cepeda) and the Asociación Española de Pizzeros Artesanos (both Spain) in Tomelloso, Spain, on 31 May 2011. The world’s longest crude oil pipeline is the Interprovincial Pipe Line Inc. installation, which spans the North American continent from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada through Chicago to Montreal: a distance of 3787.2km 2353 miles. Along the length of the pipe, 82 pumping stations maintain a flow of more than 254,000 m3 1.6 million barrels a day.
The longest pinewood derby track measured 97.54 m (320 ft) and was built by the Boston Minuteman Council and Boy Scouts of America (USA) in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, on 7 October 2012. The 12 lane pinewood derby track was constructed to look like the cable-stayed Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge, a Boston landmark that spans the Charles River.
The Lockheed C-130 is the tactical airlift backbone to the world’s air forces. It first flew on 23 August 1954 and was introduced into service in December 1956. It has been in continuous production ever since with more than 40 different models serving with over 50 nations, it is the longest continuous production run of any military aircraft in history.
Love and God (Qais aur Laila) (1986) took more than 20 years to make after running into a series of difficulties, including the deaths of lead actor Guru Dutt in 1964 and director K. Asif in 1971. The incomplete film was finally released in 1986, with Sanjeev Kumar taking over the lead role. K. Asif w also the director of Mughal-e-Azam (1960), which took more than 14 years to complete following the death of the lead actor Chandramohan. He was replaced by Dilip Kumar.
In September 2002, the UK’s Faiz Chopdat was jailed for four months for playing Tetris on his mobile phone while on a flight home, “endangering the safety of an aircraft”. Brian Salcedo, Michigan, USA was sentenced to nine years in federal prison in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA on 16 December 2004 for computer hacking. Salcedo was sentenced after pleading guilty to conspiracy and numerous hacking charges in August 2004 after he attempted to steal credit card information from the computer systems of Lowe’s hardware stores (USA).
