The most men’s ice hockey World Championships won by a nation is 24 by Canada in 1920-32, 1934-35, 1937-39, 1948, 1950-52, 1958-59, 1961, 1994, 1997 and 2003-04 and 2007. The hockey world championships are held annually by the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation). It was inaugarated in 1920.
The most men’s ice hockey World Championships won by a nation is four by Sweden in 1921, 1923-24 and 1932. This Championship was discontinued in 1932, and European Championship medals were awarded to European participants in World Championships until 1991.
