The shortest known living teenager (female) is Jyoti Amge (India, b. 16 December 1993) who was measured by a team of doctors in Tokyo, Japan, for Bikkuri Chojin 100 Special #2 (Fuji TV), and found to be 61.95 cm (2 ft) on 6 September 2009. 15 years old Jyoti loves fashion and make-up and her dream is to become an actress.
The record for the shortest street is held by Ebenezer Place in Wick, Caithness, Scotland, which measured 2.05 m (6 ft 9 in) long, when checked on 28 October 2006. Ebenezer Place is maintained by Highland Council as road authority. It first appeared in the Valuation Roll in 1886-1887.
The smallest recorded spy was the Frenchman, Richebourg (1768-1858), who measured 58 cm (1 ft 11 in) as an adult. Richebourg was employed by the aristocracy to act as a secret agent during the French Revolution (1789-1799), dispatching messages into and out of Paris, whilst disguised as an infant and carried by his ‘nurse’.
In July 1830, Louis-Antoine of France – the last “Dauphin”, or heir apparent – ascended the French throne as King Louis XIX, succeeding his father, Charles X, who had abdicated. Within 20 minutes, however, Louis-Antoine had also abdicated, making him the joint shortest reigning monarch in history. The highest skateboard ollie measured 45 in (114.3 cm) and was achieved by Aldrin Garcia (USA) at the Maloof High Ollie Challenge in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, on 15 February 2011. Garcia was required to ollie over a rigid high bar without making contact with any part of his body or board. An ollie consists of raising all four wheels of the skateboard off flat ground simultaneously.
The smallest commercially available stitched teddy bear measures 9 mm (0.29 in) and was made by Cheryl Moss (South Africa). Cheryl has been making and selling ‘Microbears’ for 6 years in specialist teddy bear stores. Microbears range from 9 mm to 13 mm in size.
