The most instruments used in a piece of music was 315 and was achieved by Rupam Sarmah (India) and his team, performing a symphony composed and directed by Rupam Sarmah at Jorhat Sports Complex, Assam, India, on 24 February 2013. The number of different instruments used was 315, however the total number of instruments used (including duplications) was 370, plus 106 vocalists, making a grand total of 476 musicians who performed the symphony which lasted for just over half an hour.
The longest underwater kiss (mouth to mouth breathing) was 12 minutes and 19 seconds achieved by Nikolay Linder at the Tauchcenter Freiburg, Freiburg, Germany on 8 October 2011. Nikolay received air from his wife Bianka Linder and his brother Oliver Linder.
The most martial arts kicks in one minute using a single leg (male) was 281 by Raul Meza (USA) at Meza’s Karate America in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA, on 25 June 2011. Meza is a karate instructor who has trained in the martial arts since age 5.
The longest golf club measures 4.22 m (13 ft 10 in) in length and was created and used by Mark Lee Reynolds (UK). The club was used to drive a ball over a distance of 169.5 metres (556 ft 1 in) on a Trackman device at the Haarlemmermeersche Golfclub, Cruqius, Netherlands, on 6 June 2012. Mark took two shots with the club. The first one was to establish that the Trackman device was working correctly, the second was the record shot.
The tallest Buddha is the Zhongyuan Buddha which measures 127.64 m (418 ft 9.19 in) and is situated in Lushan County, Henan Province, China. It was consecrated on 1 September 2009 and was measured on 2 December 2009. For this record, the measurement is taken for the height of the Buddha and the lotus base only. The fastest crossing of the English Channel by a single canoe/kayak is 2 hr 28 min by Paul Wycherley (UK) between Dover Harbour, Dover, UK and Cap Griz Nez, France, on 2 October 2011 Paul started about 100 yards out from Dover Harbour Beach and arrived at Cap Griz in France – Paul did not leave his kayak but crossed the line which the Channel crossing association were happy with.
