The fastest unpowered journey to the South Pole was made my Børge Ousland (Norway), who travelled on skis with assistance from a parafoil kite, in 34 days from 15 November to 19 December 1996. The journey was solo and unsupported, meaning he received no outside assistance. The fastest vehicle crossing the Egyptian western desert is 13 hr 33 min and was achieved by Hesham Nessim (Egypt) between Siwa Oasis, and Abu Simbel in Egypt, on 10 November 2009. The record was part of Guinness World Records day (12 November 2009). Fastest unsupported row around the British mainland (team)

The record for the fastest unsupported row around the British mainland by a team is 26 days 21 hr 14 min and was set by Lt William de Laszlo, Lt Ben Jesty, Sgt James Bastin and William Turnage (all UK) who departed from Tower Bridge, London on 7 June, rowed clockwise around the mainland and crossed the finishing line back at Tower Bridge, London, UK on 4 July 2005. The fastest violinist is Ben Lee (UK) who played “Flight of the Bumblebee” in 54.24 sec at Norwood Productions, London, UK on 18 December 2011. Ben has held the record for fastest violinist several times and is one of the most committed competitors for this category. He tours the world with bandmate Linzi Stoppard (UK) as one half of the violin duo ‘Fuse’.

Fastest Very Easy Sudoku Completion

The fastest time to complete a Very Easy Sudoku puzzle is 1 min 23.93 sec by Thomas Snyder (USA) at BookExpo America, Washington DC, USA on 20 May 2006. The attempt was carried out under the auspices of the International Sudoku Organisation and the puzzles were created by Sudoku Grand Master Mike Mepham. Thomas Snyder is American champion and was the second-place finisher at the first World Sudoku Championships in Lucca, Italy in March 2006.
