The heaviest fibroid weighed 30 kg (66 lb 2 oz) and belonged to Mrs Mahadevamma (India). The fibroid was removed by a team of surgeons and nurses, led by Dr Pushpanjali Malipatil (India) at the Rajiv Gandhi Superspeciality Hospital in Raichur, Karnataka, India on 19 December 2005.
