Largest button mosaic

The largest button mosaic measured 392.5 m² (4,224 ft² 118 in²) and was achieved by Fareed Lafta (Iraq), in Dubai, UAE, on 9 March 2013.

The mosaic was made of 1,019,078 buttons and the artwork depicted the image of a peace dove with the colours of the UAE flag. The aim of attempting this record was to promote world peace.
The mosaic measured 19.2 m in length and 20.4 in width. A team of 150 people lead by Mr Fareed Lafta, a goodwill ambassador and peace-campaigner, managed to complete the work in 10 days.
