The largest mussels dish weighed a total of 3,692 kg (4.07 tn) and was prepared during an event organised by the shopping centre Mongolfiera and Coop Estense and the ‘Societa’ Sviluppo Commerciale (both Italy) in Taranto, Italy, on 1 August 2009.

Ingredients: Mussels: 3,300 Kg, Small red tomatoes: 300 Kg., Garlic: 30 kg., Olive Oil from Puglia: 150 kg, Salt: 3 kg, pepper: 20 kg, pasley: 20 kg, wine: 150 liters, bread croutons: 300 kg
The big pots used to cook the mussels both arrived from past record attempts in North and Center of Italy.
Both pots containing 250 kg and 750 kg of mussels had been filled in 3 times to reach thel final 3692 kg (4.7 tn) record breaking mussels dish.
