The largest samba band consisted of 1,038 participants at the Cultural Turn organised by Leandro Lehart and the Municipal Secretary of Culture of Sao Paulo (both Brazil) in Republic Square in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on 17 April 2011.

Participants were pulled from 22 different schools.
