The longest chain of fire hoses is 63.206 km (39.274 miles) and was achieved by the South Tyrol Fire Brigades (Italy), in Bruneck and surrounding areas, Italy, on 31 May 2014.
Water was carried successfully for the whole length of the chain in about 12 hours from start to finish.
2,700 volunteers from 6 different villages from the Plan De Corones area participated in the record attempt, 3,100 tubes (20 m each) and 126 water commercially available pumps were used for the attempt.
