The longest chain of glowsticks consists of 4,500 glowsticks and is 802.40 m (2,632 ft 6 in) long. It was created by members of the Phoenix Explorer Scout Unit (UK) in Culzean Castle & Country Park, Maybole, UK, on 24 September 2011.

The record is measured by the number of glowsticks in the chain. Therefore, they beat the previous record even though the old record chain was longer.
