Chris Bourque (USA), son of the NHL Hall of Famer Ray Bourque (Canada), scored five goals to help power the United States past Norway, 11-2, in an opening game at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 26 December 2005. Bourque, a second-round draft pick of the Washington Capitals, scored twice on the power play and once short-handed, equaling the USA Hockey record with five goals in one game first set by Wally Chapman (University of Minnesota), who scored five goals in a 12-3 victory against Switzerland, on 3 January 1984.
