The most plastic bottle caps recycled in 8 hours is 156,460 kg (344,935.25 lb) and was achieved by Fundación Sanar (Colombia) at Multiparque, Bogota, Colombia on 5 October 2013.
Over 300 police cadets helped with the logistics on the day with millons of Colombians collecting bottle caps across the country, they were delivered by 4-72 the Colombian state postal service. Forklift trucks were used to help load the bottle caps onto lorries that were weighed as they entered and left the recycling area. Fundacion Sanar helps children with cancer and the money raised from the recycling will directly benefit 500 children.
