Knee spin is one of the popular breakdance moves. Takashi was inspired to set this record after having seen Aichi Ono’s head spin record.

KinKi Kids (Japan) have had 32 consecutive singles debut at No.1 on the Japanese charts between 28 July 1997 and 23 January 2012. The duo scored their 32nd successive No.1 with ‘Kawatta Katachino Ishi.’ KinKi Kids is a Japanese duo consisting of Koichi Domoto and Tsuyoshi Domoto under the talent agency Johnny & Associates. Although the members share the same surname, they are unrelated and the only relation they have to each other is that they both hail from the Kinki region, hence their name.

A single blue-fin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) weighing 342 kg (754 lb) was sold at an auction in the Tsukji fish market in Tokyo, Japan, on 5 January 2011, where it raised 34.49 million Yen ($420,000 or £270,000). The fish, caught off Japan”s northern island of Hokkaido as part of the country”s annual tuna-fishing allowance, was bought jointly by the owners of a restaurant in Hong Kong and a chain of sushi bars in Tokyo. Most facings on a gatefold vinyl LP

The most facings on a gatefold vinyl LP is 22 for the packaging that accompanied the album titled Lotus by Santana on the CBS Sony label to commemorate Santana’s Tour of Japan in 1973. The recording is that of the concert held on 3 July 1973 at the Kosei Nenkin Kaikan, Osaka, Japan and the 22 printed Illustrated facings are all by Mr Tadanori Yokoo. It cost £ 30,000 for making this cover in 1976.

The most finely handwoven carpet has 14,440,000 knots per m² and was made by Zhenping Carpet Industry (Group) Corp, China to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Chiyoda Rugs Company (Japan). The carpet was completed on 1 November 2004 after being in production for over 3 years. The carpet is now owned by Mrs Mitsue Takitai, Japan.

The most full contact punch strikes in one minute was 556 and was achieved by Ayaka Miyao (Japan) on the set of ‘100 Beautiful Women Who Have Guinness World Records’, at the Shiodome Nihon TV Studios in Tokyo, Japan, on 5 May 2011. Four international contestants attempted the record in a face-off. The punch strikes were counted using slow motion playback. Punch strikes which did not make full contact with the pad were discounted.
