Largest Hockey lesson

The largest hockey lesson involved 459 participants who were led by Tristan Woodhouse, Ex-Australian Hockey Player and Elizabeth Basson, Head of Sport, at the Streatham & Clapham High School, in London, UK, on 11 February 2009. Ben Marsden and James Tindall, members of the Great British Olympic Hockey team also attended and participated in the record. The lesson, which lasted for 35 minutes included a variety of hockey skills. The record included girls aged 8 to 18, staff and some parents.

Largest hotpot

The largest hotpot ever made weighed 208.904 kg (460 lb 8 oz) by Garstang and District Partnership (UK) in Garstang, Lancashire, UK, on 10th October 2007. It was prepared by Army chefs Nik Smith and Mick Watson, Andrew Winder from Lancaster and Morecambe College, local cook Avis Jones and a team of volunteers.

Largest kazoo ensemble

On 14 March 2011, an audience of 5,190 classical music fans at the “Big Red Nose Show” held in the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK, formed a kazoo ensemble as part of Red Nose Day. Accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra and led by comedienne Sue Perkins, the ensemble hummed-out renditions of Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyres and Eric Coates’ Dambusters March. The event was hosted by BBC Radio 3’s Katie Derham and Basil Brush.

Largest life size house made from interlocking plastic bricks

The largest life-sized house made from interlocking plastic bricks is 4.69 metres (15 ft 4 in) high, 9.39 metres (30 ft 9 in) long and 5.75 metres (18 ft 10 in) wide and consists of two floors with four rooms in total. Largest litter – dog

The largest litter of puppies is 24, all of whom were born on 29 November 2004 to Tia, a Neopolitan mastiff, owned by Damian Ward (UK) and Anne Kellegher (Ireland) of Manea, Cambridgeshire, UK. They were born by Caesarian section, one was still born, three died in the first week. There were nine females, 15 males in total. Tia’s full name is Abellatino Arabella. The father is called Caesar.

Largest Macarena dance

The largest Macarena dance involved 2,219 participants and was achieved by Eggbuckland Community College (UK) in Plymouth, UK, on 7 July 2011. The entire routine lasted for 5 min 36.3 sec and took place on the college’s athletics field, prior to their annual sports day. The event was organised by a Year 11 pupil, Daniel Phillips, who presented the idea to the school governors on behalf of the Student Leadership Team. Largest longsword dance display

A total of 186 dancers from seven local schools, performed a traditional Yorkshire Longsword dance in groups of six to eventually produce their interlinked sword ‘locks’ at the end of the dance on 26 September 2003 at Halifax, West Yorkshire, UK.

Largest magic lesson

The largest magic lesson involved 1,063 participants and was taught by Kevin McMahon (UK) at an event organised by Royal Blind (UK) at Fettes College, Edinburgh, UK, on 27 October 2012. The magic trick taught was a disappearing coin trick employing the ‘French Drop’ technique. The event was organised to raise sponsorship for Royal Blind, a charity providing services for blind and visually impaired people.

Largest maracas ensemble

The world record for the largest maraca ensemble was 407 people who shook their maracas for the launch of the XFM radio station in Manchester on the 15 March 2006. Bez from the Happy Mondays was one of the participants. James Bradley adjudicated the event.
