Incredibly, he never covered less than 144.8 km (90 miles) per day (except for the final day), and on the sixth day managed 157.8 km (98.1 miles). He ran for an average of 18 hours per day.

The fastest journey from Land’s End to John-O’-Groats by bicycle by a woman is 2 days 4 hr 45 min 11 sec and was achieved by Lynne Taylor (UK), on 3 October 2002. Lynne Taylor had previously set a record at 2 days 5 hours 48 minutes and 21 seconds in September 2001.

The fastest journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats on a conference bike was 28 days 8 hr and 27 min and was achieved by Team CoBi (UK), a group of 194 individuals from across the UK. The 1855.52 km (1159.7 miles) journey was completed on 29 August 2010. Andy Wilkson and Lynne Taylor have both held the individual End to End record, male and female respectively, at one point in time.

The fastest journey from Land’s End to John-O’-Groats on an electric mobility vehicle is 24 days 9 hours and was achieved by Mary Laver (United Kingdom) in a power wheelchair from 18 July to 12 August 2009. Mary Laver has Rheumatoid Arthritis and has been power wheelchair dependent for the last twenty years. Mary raised money for the Royal British Legion during her attempt. Mary drove around 45-55 miles per day, mainly using minor A and B roads.

The fastest kilometre by a motorcycle fan was 1 minute 38.77 seconds and was achieved by Konnie Huq and The Royal Signals White Helmets Motorcycle Display Team (all UK) on the set of Guinness World Records Smashed in Newquay, UK, on 12 March 2009.
