The fastest half marathon dressed as a television character was achieved by Christopher Burton (UK) dressed as Sportacus in 1 hr 33 min 46 sec at the 2011 Yeovil Half Marathon in Yeovil, UK, on 27 March 2011. Sportacus is the main protagonist from the Icelandic children’s programme “LazyTown.” Burton also attempted the fastest marathon as a television character three weeks later at the 2011 Virgin London Marathon but lost to a “Captain James T. Kirk” by 15 seconds.

The record for the fastest time to complete a half marathon race three legged is held by Alastair and Nick Benbow (UK) who ran the London Half Marathon in 1 hr 37 min 53 sec on 2 March 2003. The pair wore a pair of three legged trousers and were also tied at the wrist. The race was timed using a timing chip.
