The largest ashtray measured 50 cm (19.6 in) in diameter and had a circumference of 162 cm (5 ft 4 in). The ashtray was made by Hans Fankhauser (Austria) in Ginzling, Austria, in August 2006. The ashtray was made from Austrian Maple.
The ISS qualifies as the largest manmade object to orbit the Earth. It follows an orbit inclined 51 degrees to the equator and its altitude ranges from 360 km to 347 km above the Earth. It measures 109 m x 51 m x 20 m and can easily be seen from the ground with the naked eye during darkness. ISS orbits the Earth once every 91 minutes.
Since the famous impact of comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 on Jupiter in 1994, two further impacts have been discovered on the planet, both by amateur astronomer Anthony Wesley (Australia). The first, on 19 July 2009, was caused by an asteroid around 500 m across. The second, on 3 June 2010, is estimated to have been caused by an asteroid around 8-13 m across.
The largest attendance at a film screening was 28,442 people, achieved by Stars and Stripes Honor Flight (USA) for their world premiere of the documentary feature film ‘Honor Flight’ (2012) by Freethink Media, at Miller Park Stadium, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, on 11 August 2012. The film depicts the lives of four World War II veterans who were part of the first Honor Flight from the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight Hub in Milwaukee. The largest astronomy lesson involved 458 participants (all Mexico) at an event organised by Juarez Competitiva, at the Samalayuca Desert in Chihuahua, Mexico, on 14 October 2011. Students were taught various aspects of the October nocturnal sky, including the angular size of the Constellations, the planet Jupiter and the phases of the moon. Each participant was also given instruction on how to use a telescope (each participant had their own).
First discovered in 1885, 253 Mathilde, like Ceres, is found in the Asteroid Belt. It measures 41 x 29 x 28 miles (66 x 48 x 46 km) and became the third and largest asteroid to be encountered by a spacecraft in June 1997, whne NASA’s NEAR Shoemaker spacecraft passed it.

The largest audience at a book reading of a single author is 5,406 persons, set by Stefan Gemmel (Germany) in an event organised by Leserattenservice (Germany) at Festung Ehrenbreitstein in Koblenz, Germany, on 12 June 2012. The greatest attendance at a cricket match is about 394,000 for the Test between India and England at Eden Gardens, Calcutta (now Kolkata), India on 1-6 January 1982. The record for a Test series is 933,513 for Australia v. England (five matches) in 1936-37. The greatest recorded attendance at a cricket match on one day was 90,800 on the second day of the Test between Australia and the West Indies at Melbourne on 11 February 1961. The English match record is 159,000 for England v.
