On 9 December 2008, the European Union commenced its largest ever mission, EULEX, when it deployed the first of nearly 1,900 officials who will take over police, customs and justice responsibilities from the United Nations staff in Kosovo. The largest espresso machine in the world, unveiled on 20 September 2004, was built on Discovery Channel’s BIG! television show and measures 3.27 m (10 ft 9.25 in) tall, 2.48 m (8 ft 2 in) wide and 3.07 m (10 ft 1.5 in) long. The largest marimba ensemble consists of 98 participants and was achieved by past and present students of Western Province Preparatory School (South Africa) in Cape Town, South Africa, on 3 February 2014. The performance lasted 15 minutes, consisted of five pieces and was conducted by Philip Pringle, who at some point was the music teacher for all the participants.
