The largest key is 5.50 metres (18 ft) tall and 2.60 metres (8 ft 6 in) wide and was produced by Georgiou Evagoras (Cyprus). It was presented and measured in Yermasoyia, Limassol, Cyprus on 20 September 2006.

Largest kazoo ensemble

On 14 March 2011, an audience of 5,190 classical music fans at the “Big Red Nose Show” held in the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK, formed a kazoo ensemble as part of Red Nose Day. Accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra and led by comedienne Sue Perkins, the ensemble hummed-out renditions of Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyres and Eric Coates’ Dambusters March. The event was hosted by BBC Radio 3’s Katie Derham and Basil Brush.

The largest Kathakali dance was achieved by 150 participants at an event organised by the Art of Living Foundation, Kerala Chapter (India) at Putharikkandam Grounds in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India, on 12 February 2011. The attempt also included 15 musicians. Elaborate, traditional costumes were worn by all participants.

The largest kaiserschmarrn weighed 119.05 kg (262 lb 7 oz) and was made by Wolfgang Fritz for Stadt Wien Marketing GmbH (both Austria) during the event Vienna Recordia in Vienna, Austria, on 27 September 2009. Kaiserschmarrn is a popular Austrian dessert made from caramelised pancakes.

Largest Kuchipudi dance

The largest Kuchipudi dance comprised of 5,794 participants and was achieved by SiliconAndhra (USA) in Hyderabad, India, on 25 December 2012. Dancers had arrived from all over India and from 16 different nations for the 3rd International Kuchipudi Dance Convention. The record attempt was made at the end of the convention and it was a highly colourful event where all dancers dressed in traditional outfits together with highly elaborate hair and facial makeup. The largest playable kolintang (xilophono) is 8 m (26 ft 3 in) long, 2.5 m (8 ft 2.42 in) tall and 2 m (6 ft 7 in) wide. It was achieved by Mr. Benny J Mamoto (Indonesia) and it was measured in Tondano Maesa stadium, Indonesia, on 31 October 2009. The kolintang weights 3168 kg and it needs 3 people to be played.

Luis Agustin Caicedo Velandia, “Don Lucho” is believed to be the leader of Colombia’s largest drug trafficking and money-laundering network. According to police, between 2005 and 2009 he laundered more than $1.5 billion (£913.6 million) with profits reaching an estimated $5 billion by 2010, too much even for his network to launder.

Largest knitting needles

The largest knitting needles measure 3.98 m (13 ft 0.75 in) long and have a diameter of 8.25 cm (3.25 in). They were made by Jim Bolin (USA) and were presented and measured at Monroe Elementary School, Casey, Illinois, USA, on 20 May 2013. The knitting needles were used to knit a tension square of ten stitches by ten rows by Jeanette Huisinga (USA).

Largest knitted hat

The largest knitted hat measures 6.90 metres (22 ft 7 in) in height and 15.05 metres (49 ft 4 in) in circumference and was created by volunteers from all over Europe. It was assembled and presented in Puchheim, Germany, on 5 October 2008. It took around 3000 work hours to be completed. The finished hat weighs 116 kg and is assembled out of 978 single pieces.

Largest kite flown

The largest kite ever flown, has a total lifting area of 950 m² (10,225.7 ft²). When laid flat, it has a total area of 1019 m² (10,968.4 ft²). The kite measured 25.475 m (83 ft 7 in) long and 40 m (131ft 3 in) wide. The kite was made by Abdulrahman Al Farsi and Faris Al Farsi and flown at the Kuwait Hala Festival in Flag Square, Kuwait City, Kuwait on 15 February 2005.
