The longest individual cricket net session lasted 26 hours and was completed by Alby Shale (UK) at the Kia Oval, London, UK on 15-16 July 2013. Alby faced a total of 6,062 deliveries, a few of which were bowled by British Prime Minister David Cameron (UK). The attempt was to raise funds for the Rwandan Cricket Stadium Foundation.
The longest journey by electric vehicle (non-solar) is 19,607.96 km (12,183.80 miles) and was achieved by Norman Hajjar (USA) who drove a Tesla Model S from Portland, Oregon to Venice, California, USA, from 28 March to 21 April 2014. 4311.1 kWh of electricity was consumed and 91 charges took place over the course of the journey. The entire trip was driven solo by Norman Hajjar, Managing Director of PlugInsights, the research division of Recargo Inc.
The longest journey by dragon boat was 294.58 nautical miles (545.56 km) and was achieved by Team Beauties & Barnacles (USA) down the Missouri River and ending in St. Charles, Missouri, USA, on 24-25 August 2010. The team of 20 completed the 339 statute miles as part of the annual Missouri River 340 race and did so in 38 hr 5 min. The longest journey by canoe or kayak was made by Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton (UK) who paddled 2010 miles (3234.79 km) from the confluence of the Rio Maranon and Rio Ucayali, Peru to St. John in the Amazon Delta, Brazil from 20 January to 28 February 2010 in aid of Sport Relief. Helen paddled in a kayak called the Anne Marie – she is also thought to be the first woman to paddle down the Amazon.
Between 6 November 1988 and 3 December 1989 Hughie Thompson, John Weston and Richard Steel (all UK) covered 87,367 km (54,289 miles) through 18 countries in the World Bus, a red London Routemaster double-decker bus.
