The record for the longest road train is 1,474.3 m (4,836 ft 11 in) where a single Mack Titan prime mover, driven by John Atkinson (Australia), towed 113 trailers for a distance of approximately 150 m (490 ft) in an event sponsored by Hogs Breath Café, in Clifton, Queensland, Australia on 18 February 2006. This length is the equivalent of 156 London buses!

The world’s longest running TV variety show is Sábado Gigante (Univision Television Network, USA), which has been broadcast every Saturday evening since 8 August 1962. The longest rug measured 797.51 m (2,616 ft 5 in) in length and was manufactured by Hemtex AB (Sweden) and was laid out along Götgatan in Stockholm, Sweden, on 26 August 2010. The rug was a ‘rag’ rug and was 70 cm (2 ft 3 in) wide.

The longest rubber dam measures 1,135 m (3,723 ft) long and consists of 16 sections, each section being 70 m (229 ft) long. The Xiaobudong rubber dam is situated on the Yihe river, Shandong Province, China and was completed 1 July 1997

The longest running children’s magazine is “Murzilka”, a monthly literary and art publication for children aged 6 to 12 published by UAB “Editors Murzilka” (Russia). Murzilka launched on 16 May 1924 and has appeared monthly and without interruption for its 87 years of existence since, except for 25 double issues in the years 1931 to 1933 and 1939 to 1946. Since January 1940, Jim Russell (b. 26 March 1909, d. 15 Aug 2001) of Kirrawee, New South Wales, Australia, drew the comic strip The Potts, published in Smiths Weekly until 1950 and then daily in the Melbourne Herald until his death. Thus, it ran for over 61 years. The Potts were originally created by Stan Cross, who worked for Smiths from 1920 until 1939.
