The most marathons run on consecutive days by a female is 17 and was achieved by Iranian-born Parvaneh Moayedi (US), who completed all 17 marathons between 21st December 2012 and 6 January 2013 in various races held across Texas, USA. Parvaneh began by running the ‘End of the World’ Marathon in Humble, Texas, USA, on 21st December 2012. She completed her seventeenth and final marathon on the last day of the ‘I Ran Marathons’ Winter Festival in San Antonio, Texas, USA, on 6 January 2013.

The most marathons completed on crutches is 6 by John Sandford Hart (UK) all at the London Marathon in 2003, 2006, and 2008-11. His fastest time with the use of two legs on crutches was 6 hr 24 min 08 sec, which set a world record in 2011. Sandford Hart uses a prosthetic leg after having his right leg amputated in 2009.

Mount Athos is an autonomous republic, with an area of just 336km² 129miles²and a population of 4,000 (1997 estimate).
