The highest individual score in any Twenty20 innings is 158 not out (from 73 deliveries) by Brendon McCullum (b. 27 September 1981, New Zealand) for the Kolkata Knight Riders against Bangalore Royal Challengers in Bangalore, India, on 18 April 2008. The game was Kolkata Knight Riders’ opening game of the 2008 IPL (Indian Premier League) season. Brendon McCullum had been bought by the franchise for USD 700,000 the highest total paid for any New Zealand player.
The highest individual score in a Twenty20 international is 117 (from 57 deliveries) by Chris Gayle (b. 21 December 1979, Jamaica) for the West Indies against South Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 11 September 2007 This is also the earliest century scored in a Twenty20 international. The game was the opening game of the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup.
The most runs scored off a Test match over is 28 by Brian Lara (b. 2 May 1969, Trinidad and Tobago) playing for the West Indies against South Africa at the Wanderers, Johannesburg, South Africa on 14 December 2003. Taken off the bowling of Robin Peterson (South Africa) the scoring sequence by ball was 466444, in an innings of 202 by Lara.
Brian Lara (b. 2 May 1969, Trinidad and Tobago) scored 400 not out for West Indies v. England at the Antigua Recreation Ground, St.John, Antigua, on 10-12 April 2004. The innnings included four sixes and 43 fours, in a team total of 751-5.
Sachin Tendulkar (b. 24 April 1973, India) scored a record 1,796 runs in Cricket World Cup tournaments from 1992 to 2007.
The most runs scored in women”s Cricket World Cup matches was achieved by Debbie Hockley (New Zealand) who scored 1,501 runs across 45 games between 1982 and 2000.
The most runs in a Twenty20 International career is 1,100 by Brendon McCullum (b. 27 September 1981, New Zealand) in 40 matches between 17 Feb 2005 and 23 May 2010. McCullum became the first batsmen to score 1,000 runs in a T20 career, reaching the milestone on 4 May 2010 in a match against Zimbabwe.
Shane Warne (b. 13 September 1969, Australia) has scored a total of 3,154 runs without making a century, from 1992 to the present. Warne has scored 12 half-centuries in that run total.
Sachin Tendulkar (b. 24 April 1973, India) has scored 14,240 runs in his Test match career (280 innings, average 56.96 runs per innings), including six double hundreds, since making his debut as a 16-year-old on 15 November 1989.
