Visitors to the GWR LIVE! roadshow became instant record-breakers when they built the tallest coffee cup tower in three minutes, measuring 2.08 m (6 ft 9.89 in), at the GWR LIVE! event at the World Trade Centre, Barcelona, Spain, on 14 May 2010. The record-breaking attempt was achieved by Emma Beckman, Alisa Buckley, Anton Kirkpatrick, John Morton, Philippa Denman, Rosie Laurence, Kreena Patel, Oliver Foot (all UK) and Charlotte Cody (France).
The tallest climbing rose measured 27.7 m (91 ft) at its highest point in a straight line from the ground on 1 August 2004, and was grown by Anne and Charles Grant of Los Angeles, California, USA. Cecile Brunner variety.
The tallest Christmas pyramid is 20 m (65 ft 7 in) tall and was created by Henry Jacob (Germany). It was presented and measured on the Berlin Christmas Market in Berlin, Germany, on 16 November 2010. The Christmas pyramid had 6 floors. The bottom three were open to the public as a viewing platform.
The tallest chocolate sculpture is a 10-metre-tall (32 ft 9.7 in) Christmas tree created by Patrick Roger (France) in Sceaux, France, on 1 December 2010. The sculpture weighs 4,000 kg (8,818 lb 7.84 oz) and took a month to create.
The tallest chocolate Easter egg measured 10.39 m (34 ft 1.05 in) and had a circumference of 19.6 m (64 ft 3.65 in) at its widest point and was made by Tosca (Italy). It was measured at Le Acciaierie Shopping Centre, in Cortenuova, Italy on 16 April 2011. The chocolate Easter egg weighed 7,200 kg (15,873 lbs 4.48 oz).
The tallest cake pyramid measured 1.74 m (5 ft 8.5 in) and was achieved by MTR Rzeszów International Fair (Poland) in Rzeszów, Poland, on 21 May 2011. The cake weighed a total of 720.8 kg (1,589 lb 1 oz).
The tallest cake measured 33 m (108.27 ft) and was made by Hakasima-Nilasari Culinary School for the event Amazing Christmas and exhibited in Senayan City, Jakarta, Indonesia, from 28 November to 8 December 2008. The tallest building that is completely unoccupied is the Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang, North Korea. Although it had reached its full height of 330 m (1,082 ft) the building was not finished when construction was halted in 1992. The hotel is the world’s 18th tallest building and would be the world’s tallest hotel if completed. The hotel was said to have been built in anticipation of a joint Olympic Games between the two Koreas, but was abandoned when the Games went to South Korea.
