The women’s record for the highest speed reached under sail on water by any craft over a 500-metre timed run is by windsurfer, Karin Yaggi (Switzerland) who achieved 41.25 knots (76.4 km/h; 47.4 mph) on F2/arrows at Les Saintes maries de la Mer, France in April 2005.
The world’s longest non-stop solo sailing race is the Vendée Globe Challenge, which starts and finishes at Les Sables d’Olonne (France). The first race started on 26 November 1989. The distance currently sailed without stopping is 22,500 nautical miles (41,652 km). The race is for boats between 50 and 60 ft (15 -18 m) complying with I.M.O.C.A. 60 foot Class Rules, sailed single-handed.
The highest speed officially recorded for a land yacht is 202.9 km/h (126.1 mph) by Greenbird, piloted by Richard Jenkins (UK), at Ivanpah Dry Lake, Prim, Nevada, USA, on 26 March 2009. Greenbird is contructed from carbon composites, while airflow over the vertical sails propels the craft to reach up to five times the real speed of wind on land.

Larry began his attempt on 1 December 2012 at the Baton Rouge Marathon in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA, and completed the last of his marathons at the Dozen Sweet Potatoes PM Marathon in San Antonio, Texas, USA, on 30 November 2013.
The most Ironman races completed in one year is 30 and was achieved by James Lawrence (USA) between 1 January and 31 December 2012. James began his attempt on 8 January 2012 by running the HITS Naples 2012 race in Naples, Florida, and ran his thirtieth and final Ironman race of the year at the 2012 HITS Championship in Palm Springs, California, on 2 December 2012. The largest dim sum (yum cha) meal consists of 750 people and was achieved by Chan’s Yum Cha at Home (Australia), in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on 3 March 2013. Six different types of dim sum items were available at the meal and tea was served with the food as per the yum cha tradition. The dim sum meal took place at Chan’s Dumpling Festival which was held as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
Thomas Edward Godwin (GB) (1912-75) cycled 120,805 km. (75,065 miles) in 1939, or an average of 330.97 km. (205.65 miles) per day. He then went on to clock up a total of 160,934 km. (100,000 miles) in the 500 days to May 14, 1940.
The youngest cricketer to hit six consecutive sixes in the same over is Anthony McMahon (UK) who achieved the feat, aged 13 years 261 days, on 24 May 2003, playing for Chester-le-Street against Eppleton at Eppleton Cricket Club, Durham, UK.
