Largest pepper grinder (pepper-mill)

The largest pepper grinder, created out of maple wood by Sylvain Tremblay (Canada) in January 2004, measures 11 ft 6 in (3.5 m) tall, has a diameter of 10 in (25.4 cm) and weighs 275 lb (124.7 kg). A working, stainless steel grinding mechanism was specially built to fit the scale of the giant pepper mill. The pepper grinder has been commissioned by the owner of Via Allegro Ristorante, in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada.

Largest press conference underwater

The largest underwater press conference involved 61 journalists who dived to a depth of 10 m (32 ft 9.6 in) to attend the press conference held by Eric J Pittman (Canada) to promote the release of his new book ‘Emails from a Nut!!!’ at Crystal Pool, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, on 4 November 2006.

Largest prostate cancer screening

The largest prostate cancer screening involved 988 participants at an event organised by the Prostate Cancer Centre (Canada) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on 21 September 2011. The screening was done via blood drawn from each participant. Each blood sample underwent a Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test, higher levels of which detect prostate cancer in the patient.

Largest projected image

The largest projected image has a total surface area of 16,630.9 m² (179,013 ft²), and was achieved by Robert Lepage and his production company Ex Machina (both Canada). It was projected on the grain silos of the company Bunge in Quebec City, Canada from 20 June – 24 August 2008.

Largest puppet/marionette

The largest marionette was the mascot to Ottawa’s Ital-Fest measuring 17 m 82 cm (58 ft 5.5 in) in height and was presented by the Villa Marconi Long-Term Care Center during the annual Ital-Fest in Ottawa, Canada, on 6 September 2008. The Ital-Fest is an annual two day festival celebrating culture, traditions and entertainment in recognition of its Canadian-Italian heritage.

Largest Rubik’s Cube mosaic

The largest Rubik’s Cube mosaic was 8.78 m (28 ft 10 in) by 4.44 m (14 ft 7 in) and was created by Cube Works Studio (Canada). The mosaic was exhibited at the Cube Works Gallery in Toronto, Canada, from 28 September to 3 October 2010. The mosaic contained 12,090 individual Rubik’s Cubes and resembled Michelangelo’s ‘Hand of God’ image from the Sistine Chapel.

Largest sculpting lesson

The largest sculpting lesson was attended by 588 participants during an event organised and conducted by Wanda Goodman (Canada) and held at KidsFest, in Ontario, Canada, on 5 July 2014 The record was attempted in honor of Eden Worth, a student of Wanda’s who passed away from a rare form of cancer at age 12. All of the participants made elephants because it was Eden’s favorite animal.

Largest street hockey tournament

The largest street hockey tournament consisted of 205 teams totalling 2,096 players in the 2010 Walter Gretzky Street Hockey Tournament in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, from 4 to 6 June 2010. Walter Gretzky is the father of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky and still calls their hometown of Brantford home. Among participants in the tournament was film director/actor Kevin Smith, who fielded a team and played as goalie. Competitive divisions included Youth 7-9, Youth 10-12, Youth 13-15, Teen Boys, Ladies, Adult Competitive, Adult Intermediate, and Adult Recreational.

Largest tequila tasting event

The largest tequila tasting consists of 862 participants and was achieved by Tequila Tromba and Fonda Lola (both Canada) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on 19 September 2013. The three tequilas tasted were Tequila Tromba Blanco, Tequila Tromba Reposado and Tequila Tromba Ajeno. More than 134 bottles (100,500 mL) of tequila were consumed at the tasting.
