Youngest row across the Indian Ocean (tandem)

The youngest individuals to sail across the Indian Ocean in tandem are James Thysse (b. 8 December 1986) and Jamie Facer Childs (b. 11 July 1987) (both UK), who commenced the journey on 19 April 2009, aboard the Southern Cross, aged 22 years 4 months 12 days, and 21 years 9 months 9 days respectively, and reaching land on 31 July 2009. James and Jamie rowed as team Oz to Africa.

The youngest voting age is 16 and is shared between Austria, Brazil (voluntary between 16 and 18 years of age and over 70), Cuba, Ecuador (voluntary between 16 and 18 years of age and over 65) and Nicaragua. People aged 16–18 can vote in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia if employed. Willow (Smith), b. 31 October 2000, the daughter of actor and rap star Will Smith (both USA), became the youngest artist to have a single reach the US and UK Top 20 when, aged 10 years 1 month and 18 days, her “Whip My Hair” completed this feat on 18 December 2010.

Most kites flown simultaneously

The most kites flown simultaneously is 12,350 and was achieved by children of the Gaza Strip at an event organised by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency at Al-Waha beach, Gaza Strip, on 28 July 2011. In order to be counted all kites must be flown for a minimum of 30 seconds. In this attempt 2,231 kites were disqualified for not staying aloft for the required time.
