Largest functioning gas turbine

The largest functioning gas turbine is 13.238 m (43 ft 5 in) long, 5.923 m (19 ft 5 in) wide and 4.998 m (16 ft 4 in) high and was built by Siemens AG Energy Sector in Berlin, Germany, on 27 April 2007. After the construction, the turbine was delivered to the combined cycle power plant “Irsching 4” in southern Bavaria. The turbine weights 444 tons (888000 lbs).

Largest glowstick

The largest glowstick is 3 metres (9 ft 10 in) tall with a outside diametre of 20 cm (7.87 in) and a volume of 88.6 litres. It was created by KNIXS GmbH (all Germany) and was presented and cracked in Darmstadt Weiterstadt, Germany, on 29th June 2009. The outside cylinder was made from plexiglass. The largest gummy candy weighs 512 kg (1,128 lb 12 oz), which was made by Elisabeth Windisch (Germany) and measured at Schmitt Waagenbau GmbH in Düsseldorf, Germany, on 3 February 2014. The candy took 6 days to set while in cold storage.

Largest group drum roll

A total of 1,682 drummers, led by Guildo Horn, (Germany) played a drum roll for 5 min 2 sec, in an event organised by Lebenshilfe-Werke Trier GmbH, Diedenhofener, Germany, on 30 August 2009. Guildo Horn was also a former Eurovision song contestant. The record attempt was in conjunction with the organisers celebrating their jubilee.

Largest knitted hat

The largest knitted hat measures 6.90 metres (22 ft 7 in) in height and 15.05 metres (49 ft 4 in) in circumference and was created by volunteers from all over Europe. It was assembled and presented in Puchheim, Germany, on 5 October 2008. It took around 3000 work hours to be completed. The finished hat weighs 116 kg and is assembled out of 978 single pieces.

Largest litter bin mosaic

The largest litter bin mosaic was made up of 6,401 litter bins and was achieved by Trenntstadt Berlin (Germany) at the former Tempelhof Airport in Berlin, Germany, on 18 September 2010. Trenntstadt is a company that tackles waste prevention and recycling in Berlin, Germany. The largest operational mousetrap was built by Bio Tec-Klute GmbH (Germany) measuring 4.25 m (13 ft 11.32 in) long and 2.10 m (6 ft 10.68 in) wide, when unveiled in Borchen, Germany on 1 April 2007.

Largest muffin

The largest muffin weighed 88.7 kg (195.55 lb), measuring 79 cm (2 ft 7 in) in diameter and 45.5 cm (1 ft 6 in) in height, was baked by master baker Gerhard Hinz (Germany) at the Schanzenbackerei bakery in Hamburg, Germany, on 27 February 2010.
