The longest single-handed unassisted journey in a dinghy by a female is 282.78 nm (523.7 km; 325.41 miles) and was achieved by Tania Elias Calles Wolf (Mexico) who sailed from Los Cabos Baja California Sur to Bahia de Banderas, Mexico, between 28 February and 3 March 2010. The longest speech marathon by a team is 100 hours and was achieved by Mar Adentro de México, A.C., Toastmasters México – Jalisco and Ayuntamiento de Guadalajara 2010-2012 at Parque de la Revolución, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, from 18-22 May 2011. There were a total of 636 participants who spoke for a minimum of 5 minutes throughout the attempt.
The longest tortilla measured 2.4 km (1.49 mi) and was achieved by CANIRAC La Paz (Mexico) in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, on 3 November 2010. The record-setting tortilla was used to build the largest burrito, which weighed 5,799.44 kg (12,785.576 lbs). The tortilla alone weighed over 2 tonnes.
By May 2003, Gilberto Macías Enríquez of Nuevo León, Mexico constructed a model of the Vatican made entirely with 21,313 button-shaped batteries. His aim is to make people aware of the high toxicity of batteries by recycling them.
The most calves born in a single birth is five, all of whom were born on 18 March 2005 at the Santa Clara Ranch, Congregacion Garza, Reynosa Tamaulipas, Mexico. The owners are Mr Guadalupe Olivares Garza & Sons. It was the first pregnancy for the mother of the claves “Coneja Roja” (Red Rabbit). She was artificially inseminated by the bull “Infinity” and each of her claves weighed 35 lbs (16 kgs). They currently all live in the Santa Clara Ranch.
The most expensive bottle of water sold at auction was for $774,000 pesos, $60,000 US (£39,357) at an auction organised by Plan3t Foundation A.C. at La Hacienda de los Morales, Mexico City, Mexico on, 4 March 2010. The glass bottle is covered in 24-karat gold and is based on artwork by the late Italian artist Amedeo Clemente Modigliani.
