The longest marathon playing a football video game lasted 38 hr 49 min 13 sec and was achieved by Marco Ramos and Efraim Ie (both Portugal) who played Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 (Konami, 2011) at the Alegro Alfragide Shopping Mall, Lisbon, Portugal from 18-20 November 2011. The loudest applause was 111 dBs and was organized by Realizar Impact Marketing and Modelo (Portugal), and achieved by Tony Carreira Fans (Portugal) at the Bela Vista Park, in Lisbon, Portugal, on 20 June 2009. Nearly 22,000 fans of the famous Portuguese singer Tony Carreira gathered in Bela Vista Park to attend his concert and were asked before the concert to attempt the record. The record was attempted together with another two records, largest litter bin and largest picnic.

The most appearances in the cycling Tour of Portugal is 21 and was achieved by Joaquim Andrade (Portugal) who has competed in the Tour of Portugal every year from 13 August 1989 to 16 August 2009. Joaquim Andrade is a professional cyclist, he finished 39th out of 123 riders in the 2009 tour with his team LA-Paredes Rota dos Moveis one of 14 teams that took part. Incidentally he finished the Tour on the 16th of August which was also Joaquim’s 40th birthday!

In winning the 2011 UEFA Europa League, F.C. Porto (Portugal) became the first European club football team to win multiple trebles (top domestic league, national cup, European cup in the same season), matching the club’s feat in 2003 of winning the Portuguese league/cup and the UEFA Champions League.
