The largest cow bell ensemble involved 640 participants, in an event organised by Künstlerhaus Boswil (Switzerland) in Boswil, Switzwerland, on 6 September 2009. The event was made in conjunction with the Boswil show in Switzerland led by Paul Hamner of Johannesburg.
The largest double bass measured 5.55 m (18 ft 2.7 in) tall and 2.13 m (7 ft) wide. It was made by Gigezunft Doppleschwand in Switzerland and completed on 28 October 2006.
The largest flare run ever consisted of 2,854 skiers and snowboarders who, while carrying flares, followed a course between Riggisalp and Schwarzsee, Switzerland on 28 January 2006
The largest fondue set consisted of a pot measuring 2.6 m (8 ft 6 in) in diameter and 1.61 m (5 ft 3 in) deep and two forks measuring 2.61 m (8 ft 6 in) long and was created by the Football Club Semsales (Switzerland) in celebration of their 75th anniversary in Semsales, Switzerland, on 26 June 2010. The fondue prepared in the pot used 922.5 kg (2,033.76 lb) cheese, equal parts gruyere and vacherin.
The 9,300 magnets inside the 27 km (approx. 17 miles) circumference of the Large Hadron Collider are designed to be refrigerated for operational use. 10,080 tonnes of liquid nitrogen are needed to cool them down to just -193.2 C, before they are filled with nearly 60 tonnes of liquid helium, which cools them further to just -271.3 C.
The largest model aircraft by wingspan is 15 metres (49 ft 2 in) and was constructed by Markus Frey (Switzerland). It made its first flight at 5632 Buttwill (AG) airfield, Switzerland, on 8 May 2009. The model aircraft type KU4 Austria 1932, also known as “elephant” has a wing span of 15m, and is 4.5m long, 1m high and a weight of 70-75kg. The model plane flew up to a height of approximately 300 to 500 feet.
The record for the largest parade of fire trucks is 159 and was achieved by Vogt Ltd., Fire Service Accessories and Vehicles in Oberdiessbach, Switzerland on 28 April 2006.
The largest parallel bars display was achieved by 343 participants at an event organised by Turnverein Sulz (Switzerland) in Sulz, Switzerland, on 16 May 2010. 33 gymnastics clubs were involved in the attempt.
The largest raft race involved 1,214 participants on 607 rafts and was organised by Gonnado GmbH (Switzerland) in Bern, Switzerland, on 20 August 2011. 1,400 participants started the race however some did not finish leaving a total of 1,214.
The largest rolling ball clock is AION which is 11.6 m (38 ft) high 6 m (19 ft 8 in) wide and 50 cm (1 ft 7 in) deep. It is located at the headquarters of Bucherer AG, Lucerne, Switzerland, and was measured on 11 March 2008. A rolling ball clock is a clock which displays time by means of balls and rails. The total length of the rails for all balls in AION is 297.8 m
