Lawrence West (UK) cut out a boomerang from a sheet of material where the shape had already been drawn and then threw it and caught it in a time of 1 min 11 sec at the Boomerang Championships, Trefriw, North Wales on 26 August 2001. All participants are given the same sized piece of sheet material with the outline of the boomerang drawn on it. They then can use whatever tools they wish to cut it out and then run a distance of 20 m.
